Buttonholes and Corsages

Usually buttonholes are worn by the Groom, Best Man, Ushers and Bride's and Groom's fathers. They can also be given to other members of the wedding party, depending on your personal choice and of course, your budget. Corsages are usually given to the Mother of the Bride and also the Mother of the Groom. They too can be worn by other female guests and are popular for Grandmothers. Traditionally, corsages are worn "upside down", that is, the stems of the flowers towards the shoulder and the flowers downwards. Today, corsages can be worn either way and also can be quite minimalist in their design, consisting of just a main flower such as an orchid or calla lily with embellishments to match the lady's outfit. Mens' buttonholes are worn on the left lapel and ladies corsages/buttonholes on the right.
